Azolla is also referred to as Fairy moss and is made of hundreds of tiny plants. This floating pond plant is a true fern having leaves that are finely toothed and fuzzy. The fine roots of Azolla trail below the delicate, lacy green fronds and reproduces rapidly in the warm weather of summer. Azolla will turn red during the spring and again in fall when water temperatures are cooler. This attractive floating pond plant will grow in damp soil or on moist rocks along the ponds edge. Azolla floating pond plant is sold in a generous pint sized portion.
