Water Snowball (Gymnocoronis spilanthoides)

Sold as a submerged plant. (stems rubber banded together), but it can be submerged, floated, or potted as a bog plant.

This bushy, semi-tropical plant, has glossy deep green leaves. The many clusters of 1/2" white flowers are made up of tiny white filaments and bloom profusely summer through fall. The fragrant snowball blossoms are one of the best butterfly-attracting plants for the water garden. Monarch butterflies will cover the plants during their fall migration. A mature water snowball plant branches freely and will grow to 3 feet tall and wide, branching out on the water surface. Water snowball will grow in a wide range of growing conditions, from moist soil or water up to 12 inches deep. This versatile aquatic plant will also grow as a submerged plant.
